All moved in!
It’s been quite a whirlwind since May 30. We moved, our computer crashed, we hosted kid birthday parties, our camera cable disappeared, etc., etc. I will post more inside photos soon.
But we’re all moved in to our wonderful new house and we couldn’t be happier! It is exceeding our expectations.
Thanks for following along!
Another busy day!
“It’s rainin’ men, Allelujah, it’s rainin’ men!”
Plumbers, electricians, appliance delivery men, painters, carpet installers and a carpenter and last, but not least–OUR WONDERFUL GENERAL CONTRACTOR who makes it all happen–make for a very productive day. THANK YOU! 🙂
More photos soon! Had to stay out of their ways…
Busy day!
Stand back–here are the recent changes to 744 Summit Street! The movers are coming on May 30. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t fence us in…
The temporary chain link fence is gone! Time for grading tomorrow, we hear (and hope)! Inside they put down the first coat of polyurethane, so no walking inside until tomorrow. (Counter tops come then–yay!)
Concrete garage floor and front porch
Between downpours, we managed to get a garage floor and front porch. The floors were stained today–no walking on it until Sunday or so…
In other Browning news, on Monday the kids turned in their “build a model of a Downers Grove building.” Hmmm. Wonder whose projects THOSE really were?
Slowly…but surely…
More photos of the interior. The colors look beautiful (we think, anyway)! I had a panic attack about the master bedroom color, but Christie reassured me all was well. It’s amazing how different the full color looks versus it being just “cut in.”
Thank you, Ed and Mike!
Ed and Mike are painting the house. They are working hard each and every day! The colors have started going on upstairs–more photos soon!
Painting and staining continue…
The trim is painted first, then the walls. The stairs have been stained. We’re getting closer every day!
Cupola is up!
The crane was here, but not used. Instead, the men hoisted it up using sheer strength and a ladder. It is wet out–thank goodness no one slipped! It looks nice!
Counter top visit
Today Christie and I went to the granite place. Fortunately they had many remnants that will work in our house. Yay!
The most exciting photo, though, is of the weather vane on top of the cupola. Nice work, Ken! There’s a letter for each kid, plus the dog. It’s symbolic, because it’s them that give us direction in life! 🙂
